Allow me to introduce myself.
I am a 35-year-old, 5' 11'', medium build, Caucasian male. I am married, two kids, and I live in a mid-sized home in the suburbs. I have spent the past decade working in IT; that's right, computer stuff! Unless you have actually done IT work for years, it is probably difficult to imagine how unfulfilling, and meaningless it can be, but hell, as it turns out, that is what my brain is good at and as it also turns out, wives and kids like to eat occasionally. Who knew? :)
I imagine, like many of you, my Monday through Friday looks like a series of paper dolls; each day, just like the last, but increasingly less interesting. I often catch myself daydreaming of adventure or living for the weekends when I can spend hours playing games with my family or just working in the yard, pulling weeds, pruning my raspberries, while listening to my favorites podcasts.
Now at this point, if you are still coherent, I can guess what you are thinking:
"Hey! Who gave this guy a blog and shouldn't there be some sort of rule against flaunting a life so monotonous, that watching paint dry is starting to sound like an enticing alternative"?
Well, I have some good news for you, my friend. This blog is not about my life per se, it is not about the latest trends in the fascinating world of server hardware. It is not even about pruning raspberries. No, this blog is about my secret obsession. A secret so deep, and so dark, and so secret, that it can only be trusted to the anonymity of the internet.
So, here goes...
My name is Mike and I am a phase-a-holic.
